Sleep Tips From Pool

I was talking to a coworker a few months back about my problems not getting enough sleep.  He had a suggestion that I wanted to pass on to you all.  Maybe it will help one of us out!

He is a golfer and I related his suggestion to pool.

He said what he does when he can't fall asleep is he thinks of a past golf match.  He added, "because I'm not thinking of actions or what to do, it calms me down and I fall asleep."

I have written before how imagining running out can help our pool game when we can't get to the pool table, but I hadn't considered thinking of a previous pool match to help me fall asleep.  I suppose that is better than counting sheep!

Project Idea In Honor of Dave Faver

I was watching tv and a commercial came on that gave me an idea that gives back to the pool community... in Dave's honor!  And it would be an alternative to a tournament, to carry on Dave's legacy/name!  It's currently percolating in my mind, but when I figure out more details, I will announce it here on my blog. :)

I am super excited about it, honestly!

I just have to figure out the many different aspects of the project/idea before I share what I'm mulling over, lol.

But, wanted to give you all a heads up something is a-brewing!

Specialized Chalk

It's amazing the things you can do with duct tape.  Little did I know that accessorized duct tape is super hip with the teenagers.  They use it on books OR whatever they can find to decorate.

I saw this at WalMart and my boyfriend's daughter (who was 16 at the time) forced me to go back and get it!  I exaggerate, but I did buy her some the next time I saw the display (not empty).

So, it was SUPER COOL when my teammates' daughter decorated my chalk for me!  No one else has this color!

I told her I wanted to blog about it, so she took a pic of ALL the decorated pieces of chalk her daughter created for teammates and friends:

When I played at ACS Nationals, I knew which was my chalk at ALL times.  Only one time did an opponent pick it up.  My teammates were like, "She just used your chalk!"  I quickly walked up and grabbed it since I accidentally left it on the table.  ;)  It was obviously personalized - can't believe she even touched it!  Just kidding!

When my team played, we each had decorated duct taped chalk.  It was awesome!
